Creating the DVD
In the next few blogs, I will attempt to talk about some of the problems with DV in regards to color correction, film looks and DVD compression.

The When Love Walks In Blog is an extension of the film by The Brothers Williamson. It is a glimpse inside the minds and hearts of the cast and crew of the motion picture. Please add your comments to any of the posts.

Alright, I have realized that I have left this post open about how I created the DVD for WLWI, or for those not on the inside When Love Walks In. I do apologize for the cliff hanger.
I can tell you some specific applications that I have used, some of the problems I inherited or some of the things I would never do again.
But first let me remind you that if you are going to start a blog about something you have been doing, it is far easier and probably much more amusing if you start the blog when you start the project. So here I am better late than never. I may never actually say everything I want to say, so I encourage questions.
Here are the apps. I have used and why.
DVD Studio Pro 2
Compressor
Final Cut Pro 4.5
Creative Suite
After Effects
BitVice 1.6
Let me work down the list and tell why.
DVDSP – Well it is incredibly easy to use. Unfortunately, some people thought it was still a bit confusing, so Apple purchase another DVD software company and integrated all of their technologies into a new version and a version after that, that handles HD-DVD, all of this for under $300. Why wouldn’t you want to use it? It is also plays very nice with Apple’s other offerings, mainly FCP and Compressor. I will post more on those apps in another blog. Yeah I know I just got started talking about it. But you should be pleased, because I came back and haven’t forgotten about all of you people that are anxious to read about the DVD.
So don’t hold your breath because it may be awhile before I get back and then I won’t have anybody to read the ending. So far this blog is turning out like the film, but I’m still within a year as opposed to 7 years to get to the point of making the DVD. So sit back and relax, its going to be a long journey.
